Coffee price today February 15, 2025: Slight decrease after a series of increases

Today's domestic coffee price, February 15, is at 131,000 - 132,500 VND/kg. A slight decrease of 500 to 1000 VND/kg compared to yesterday. Coffee prices remain high, helping farmers earn more than 90,000 VND/kg.

Domestic coffee prices today

Domestic coffee prices in the Central Highlands today decreased slightly compared to yesterday, fluctuating between 131,000 - 132,500 VND/kg.

Accordingly, traders in Dak Nong province are purchasing coffee at the highest price of 132,500 VND/kg. A slight decrease of 500 VND/kg compared to yesterday.

Coffee price in Dak Lak province is 132,300 VND/kg, down 700 VND/kg compared to yesterday.

Coffee prices in Gia Lai province decreased by VND500/kg and were traded at VND132,300/kg.

In Lam Dong province, coffee prices decreased by VND1,000/kg and reached VND131,000/kg.

According to statistics from the Vietnam Coffee - Cocoa Association, in January 2025, Vietnam exported 154,635 tons of coffee, with export turnover reaching 799.48 million USD.

Of which, exported coffee beans reached 137,568 tons, with a turnover of 694.93 million USD, down 38.2% in volume but up 8.8% in turnover compared to the same period last year.

Processed coffee exports reached 17,067 tons, with a turnover of 104.55 million USD (volume converted according to ICO regulations), accounting for 11% of total volume and 13.1% of total turnover of all types of exported coffee.

According to these statistics, in January 2025, FDI enterprises accounted for 21.8% of the total export volume of green coffee beans and 22.4% of the total export turnover of green coffee beans.

Previously, in 2024, domestic enterprises exported nearly 1.35 million tons of coffee, earning 5.62 billion USD, the highest level in history.

The average export price of coffee reached a record high of 4,178 USD/ton, peaking at 5,855 USD/ton in November 2024. The price of green coffee beans in the domestic market also reached a peak of 131,000 VND/kg. After deducting costs, farmers earned more than 90,000 VND/kg.

World coffee prices today

Robusta Coffee (London):

Delivery March 2025: Down 9 USD/ton, to 5,785 USD/ton.

Delivery in May 2025: Up 9 USD/ton, to 5,797 USD/ton.

Arabica Coffee (New York):

March 2025 delivery: Up 8.85 cents/lb, to 430.05 cents/lb.

May 2025 delivery: Down 6.45 cents/lb, to 418.65 cents/lb.

Concerns about global coffee supplies are supporting prices. Brazil’s coffee exports in January fell 1.6% year-on-year to 3.98 million bags, according to Cecafe, although still a significant volume.

Green coffee exports fell 3.8% to 3.6 million bags, while Arabica exports fell 0.3% to 3.28 million bags and Robusta exports fell sharply by 28.9% to 328,074 bags.

In contrast, sales of processed coffee (mainly instant coffee) to foreign markets increased sharply by 25.7%, reaching 370,566 bags.

The Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) has announced increased margin requirements for its Arabica futures and cocoa futures contracts. The initial margin requirement for the Arabica contract expiring in March 2025 has been increased from $8,806 to $9,829 per contract.

At the same time, the initial margin requirement for the May 2025 contract – the contract with the largest trading volume – also increased from $9,499 to $10,410 per contract.
