Mr. Nguyen Nam Hai, Chairman of the Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association (VICOFA), said that in February 2025, Vietnam exported 193,031 tons of coffee, earning more than 1.08 billion USD.
This is the first time Vietnam's coffee exports have reached over 1 billion USD in just one month. This result is thanks to the highest export volume since the beginning of the harvest season (from October 2024 to present), ranging from 50,000 - 155,000 tons/month. In addition, the export price of coffee is also very high, averaging 5,596 USD/ton, including processed coffee.
In the first two months of 2025, Vietnam exported a total of 343,331 tons of coffee, with a turnover of more than 1.87 billion USD. Of which, the amount of exported coffee beans was 315,615 tons, bringing in more than 1.65 billion USD. Although the export volume decreased by 14.8% compared to the same period last year, the turnover value increased sharply by 50%.

One of the reasons for the increase in coffee prices is the weakening of the US dollar, which has fallen to its lowest level since February. In addition, strong buying power from financial investors on the trading floor has also contributed to pushing prices up.
Coffee stocks in Brazil are falling sharply as global prices hit record highs. Severe drought has slashed coffee production, forcing many farmers to sell off much of their stocks months before the new crop begins.
Coffee inventories in February were at an all-time low, according to Willian Cesar Freiria, sales director at Cocapec, Brazil’s third-largest coffee cooperative. In 2024, Cocapec will receive just 1.1 million bags, down from 1.5 million bags in 2023, due to a prolonged period of below-average rainfall, making coffee supplies ahead of the new harvest very limited.
Global coffee prices are likely to continue rising in the short term as supply shows no signs of improvement. According to a Reuters survey, Robusta prices could reach $5,500 per tonne, while Arabica could surpass 400 cents per pound if the upward trend continues.
