Since the 4th day of Tet, walking through some markets in Vinh city, such as Vinh, Quang Trung, Hung Dung, Cua Bac, Kenh Bac, Nghi Phu, ... are still deserted with both sellers and buyers. In general, the prices of meat, fish, eel ... are slightly higher than normal days and much lower than the days before Tet, December 28 and 29. Specifically, prices fluctuate between markets, such as pig's feet 60 - 70 thousand VND/kg; pork butt 100 - 120 thousand VND/kg; pork belly 100 thousand VND/kg; good beef costs from 180 - 200 thousand VND/kg; live eel 180 thousand VND/kg; snakehead fish 80 - 85 thousand VND/kg; silver carp 35 - 40 thousand VND/kg. As for green vegetables, which are selling quite well after a few days of people getting bored with meat and fish, and stockpiling them, plus the cold and rainy weather suitable for organizing hot pot meals, have only increased slightly, such as mustard greens at 4-5 thousand VND/bunch; celery at 5,000 VND/bunch; squash shoots at 8 thousand VND/dozen shoots...




Consumers are very excited when the price of vegetables after Tet is very cheap.



Pork and fish prices returned to normal levels.



The fruit products are both fresh and delicious, and the price is reasonable.


On the 7th day of Tet, trading activities began to become more bustling, prices of almost all items returned to normal and the difference between markets in Vinh city was insignificant. At Vinh market, Ms. Nguyen Thi Dung, a fruit seller, said: During Tet, all kinds of fruits were "sold out", so after Tet, all the goods were new and fresh, but the prices were stable. For example, "boxed" watermelons in the off-season were 18 thousand VND/kg, but now they are the same; grapes are 70 - 80 thousand VND/kg; jujubes, pears, dragon fruits are 30 thousand VND/kg; .... Ms. Dung also added: in recent years, there has never been a year when prices have been as stable as this year.

Like the prices of fruits, fresh foods such as pork, fish, eel, and chicken also remain at normal prices. Specifically, pork belly costs 90,000 VND/kg, good quality pork butt costs 120,000 VND/kg; snakehead fish costs 75,000 VND/kg; silver carp, bighead carp, and grass carp costs 30,000 VND/kg; live chicken costs 120,000 VND/kg; sea anchovies costs 60,000 VND/10 fish; sea sardines costs 20-30,000 VND/10 fish... In particular, most green vegetables are cheaper than normal days, such as chrysanthemum vegetables cost only 1,500 to 2,000 VND/10 bunches; mustard greens cost 2,000-3,000 VND/bunch; celery costs 3,000 VND/bunch; cabbage costs 5,000 VND/kg; kohlrabi costs 4,000-6,000 VND/kg; Green beans 12,000 to 15,000 VND/kg... Ms. Nguyen Thi Nga, in Vinh Tan ward, was very excited to say: After a year when the prices of food items are moderate, salary earners like us are very happy and feel more secure when holding money in hand to go to the market.

However, through our observations, some items such as beef are still at a high level, grade one meat costs from 180 - 200 thousand VND/kg; green tea is at 15,000 VND/bunch; oranges of all kinds are fluctuating from 40,000 VND to 80,000 VND/kg; Thai mango is 80 thousand VND/kg; custard apple is 100 thousand VND/kg...

Not only Vinh market but also Quang Trung, Hung Dung, Nghi Phu, Kenh Bac markets, etc., by the 7th day of Tet, the prices of basic goods have really created peace of mind for people. This is a good sign, signaling that the whole year will be good at stabilizing market prices, contributing to improving and raising the living standards of the people.
