On November 26, Binh Tan District Police, Ho Chi Minh City, said they were collecting information to handle a group of people impersonating police officers to illegally detain people for ransom. The victim of the subjects was Mr. Shen Daojun, 46 years old, Chinese nationality.

According to initial information, knowing that Mr. Shen Daojun came to Ho Chi Minh City to organize illegal brokerage, a number of subjects including Do Thi Hang (29 years old, from Ca Mau), Bui Thi Hien (23 years old, from Binh Thuan), Vu Hoai Thuong (34 years old, from Kien Giang) and Nguyen Thi Nhu Quynh (19 years old, from Tien Giang) planned to kidnap Mr. Shen Daojun and demand ransom.

On the morning of November 22, Mr. Shen Daojun rode his motorbike to the NH coffee shop (Binh Tri Dong B ward, Binh Tan district) when a group of people rushed in, claiming to be police officers, and then forced Mr. Shen Daojun to a deserted road.

Here, the subjects said that they arrested Mr. Shen Daojun to investigate the illegal marriage brokerage and Mr. Shen Daojun had to go to jail. The subjects threatened that if Mr. Shen Daojun did not pay 200 million VND, they would immediately imprison Mr. Shen Daojun.

Being controlled, Mr. Shen Daojun was forced to call his relatives to collect money and give it to the above group of people.

On November 23, the subjects assigned 4 girls to the meeting point, a house in Thai Son apartment building (Tan Tao ward, Binh Tan district) to receive money, but were arrested by the police.

Mr. Shen Daojun was rescued by Binh Tan District Police. Binh Tan District Police took statements from the four girls and searched for the masterminds of this kidnapping and ransom case.
