Impersonating police, defrauding more than 4 billion VND
After ordering police uniforms and support tools online, Le Van Dinh put them on, took pictures and sent them to the victim to gain their trust, then defrauded them of more than 4 billion VND.
On the afternoon of August 3, Ha Tinh City Police announced that they had just arrested Le Van Dinh (born in 1983), permanent resident of Hamlet 3, Son Truong Commune, Huong Son District, Ha Tinh, for impersonating a police officer to defraud and appropriate property.
According to investigation documents, at around 8:30 a.m. on August 3, during reconnaissance in the area, the Criminal Police Team of Ha Tinh City Police coordinated with Thach Trung Commune Police to conduct an administrative inspection of room 503 - Thuy Nhung motel and discovered Le Van Dinh with a people's police uniform.

At the investigation agency, Le Van Dinh confessed that he was not a police officer, and that all of the uniforms and support tools were ordered online by the subject with the purpose of defrauding and appropriating the property of gullible people.

Continuing to expand the investigation, Ha Tinh City Police identified Le Van Dinh as the subject being sought by Lang Son City Police for his involvement in the case of fraud and property appropriation against Ms. VTV (born in 1964, residing in Lang Son City, Lang Son Province).
Previously, Le Van Dinh introduced himself to Ms. V. as a police officer, working at the Northeast II Mobile Police Battalion (Na Tam area, Lang Son city, Lang Son province). After gaining Ms. V.'s trust, Dinh made up many reasons to borrow money.

To avoid detection and increase Ms. V's trust in him, Dinh dressed in a police uniform and took many different photos and sent them to Ms. V.
Trusting, Ms. V. repeatedly lent Le Van Dinh money and property, a Mazda car with license plate 12C - 057.13, with a total value initially estimated at over 4 billion VND.
Currently, Ha Tinh City Police are continuing to investigate.
