Farmer family with 5 children going to university
(Baonghean.vn) -At the congress to honor studious families and studious clans and communities of Thach Son commune (Anh Son district, Nghe An), Phan Van Hanh's family (village 4) was reported as a typical example and was honored by the collective to attend the 2012 congress of studious families at a higher level.
Mr. Phan Van Hanh, born in 1959, is a commune land officer. His wife, Nguyen Thi Huong, also born in 1954, is a war invalid.
Mr. Hanh and Ms. Huong's family has 5 children (including 4 girls and 1 boy). In addition to the collective work, Mr. Hanh also received nearly 2 hectares of land. In addition to farming, Ms. Huong raises 40 piglets and nearly 1 ton of pork each year, so she not only has enough to eat but also has money to send her children to school. Understanding the hardships of their parents, the children are all well-behaved and good at studying. Mr. Hanh confided: "A good start will lead to a good end." With the first child, we must let her study well to set an example for the younger children. The first daughter, Phan Thi Huyen, graduated from Nghe An Pedagogical College and is now teaching at Chau Khe Primary School, Con Cuong. Huyen also studied part-time at the University and was awarded the title of excellent teacher at the district level in the 2010-2011 school year. The second daughter, Phan Thi Hao, graduated with a good degree from the University of Foreign Languages and is now teaching English at Anh Son I High School. The third daughter, Phan Thi Hau, graduated with a good degree in geography from Da Nang Pedagogical University. Mr. Phan Van Hoang is a student at the People's Security Academy and the youngest child, Phan Thi Ha, is currently a student at the Hanoi University of Commerce and has been awarded a scholarship for poor students overcoming difficulties.
Ms. Huong said: It was very difficult and costly for my husband and I to take care of 5 children from one class to another. Since the 3 older sisters finished school and got jobs, we have been able to relax a bit. Because the older sisters have helped to raise the younger siblings.
Not only village 4 but also the whole Thach Son commune admires the family of Mr. Hanh and Ms. Huong as a studious family.
