Gas prices hit lowest level of the year
Many gas businesses have announced price reductions for this item starting July 1. Accordingly, after a sharp reduction in June to VND35,500/12 kg cylinder, in July, each 12 kg gas cylinder delivered to consumers will be reduced by about VND18,000-18,500, depending on the brand.
For example, Saigon Petro Company Limited announced that from July 1, its gas price will decrease by VND18,500/12 kg cylinder and the retail price to consumers will be VND347,000/12 kg cylinder.

Similarly, the City Petro gas brand also announced a reduction of VND18,000/12 kg cylinder. Accordingly, the retail price to consumers is VND385,000/12 kg cylinder; VND1,443,500/45 kg cylinder...
Thus, domestic gas prices have decreased sharply twice in a row after increasing once. Since the beginning of the year, gas prices have increased twice and decreased five times, with a total decrease of more than VND 140,000 per 12 kg cylinder. Currently, this fuel price is equivalent to April 2022.
The decline in domestic gas prices this time is due to the world gas price in July closing at 387.5 USD/ton, down 57.5 USD/ton compared to June. Currently, about 60% of domestic gas is imported, so gas prices are controlled and affected by world prices.
Gasoline prices are expected to decrease slightly in the operating period on July 3, 2023.
It is forecasted that the price of gasoline and oil in the operating period on July 3, 2023 will likely decrease slightly compared to the previous operating period. However, the adjustment level is not significant.
According to regulations, the gasoline price adjustment period is July 1. However, because Saturday is a holiday, the Ministry of Finance and Industry and Trade will postpone the announcement of the new gasoline price to Monday (July 3).

Due to the continuous decrease in crude oil and finished petroleum products prices, domestic retail gasoline prices are forecast to decrease.
Updated prices of finished petroleum products on the Singapore market up to June 28 show that petroleum products have decreased compared to prices before the previous adjustment period (June 21). For example, compared to prices on June 20, imported gasoline products on June 28 are nearly 4 USD/barrel lower, diesel is about 3 USD/barrel lower.
In the domestic market, according to some petroleum businesses, the average price of finished gasoline in the Singapore market this period (nearly 10 days) has tended to decrease compared to the previous period. It is forecasted that gasoline prices may decrease by nearly 300 VND/liter, oil prices may increase slightly or remain unchanged, this decrease/increase does not include the gasoline price stabilization fund to adjust fees, if any.
Since the beginning of the year, domestic gasoline prices have undergone 18 adjustments, including 9 increases, 6 decreases and 3 unchanged.
Previously, in the operating period of June 21, 2023, the price of 0.05S diesel was at a high level of no higher than VND 18,174/liter; the price of oil was no higher than VND 17,956/liter; the price of E5RON92 gasoline was no higher than VND 20,878/liter; and the price of RON95-III gasoline was no higher than VND 22,015/liter.
