Pig price in the North
Pig prices in the North today (November 22, 2024) remained stable between 61,000 and 63,000 VND/kg.
Specifically, the lowest pork price is 61,000 VND/kg in Ninh Binh and Lao Cai. Meanwhile, provinces such as Thai Nguyen, Phu Tho, Thai Binh, Vinh Phuc, Tuyen Quang and Hanoi have the highest price in the region at 63,000 VND/kg.
Pig price in Central Highlands
In the Central Highlands, the price of live pigs today remained unchanged from the previous day. Prices ranged from 60,000 to 61,000 VND/kg.
Among them, provinces such as Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Quang Binh and Lam Dong have the highest price in the region at 61,000 VND/kg. However, Thua Thien Hue has decreased by 1,000 VND, to 60,000 VND/kg.
Pig price in the South
The price of live pigs in the South today (November 22, 2024) is stable, ranging from 60,000 to 63,000 VND/kg. The provinces of Long An, Ca Mau and Can Tho City have the highest price of live pigs at 63,000 VND/kg.
Compared to yesterday (November 21), some provinces such as Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Bac Lieu, Vinh Long and Hau Giang increased by 1,000 VND, to 61,000 to 62,000 VND/kg.

On the morning of November 21, the Department of Animal Husbandry, Veterinary and Fisheries held an interdisciplinary meeting to strengthen the prevention of African swine fever (ASF) in the province.
According to a report by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, since the beginning of the year, the country has detected 1,452 ASF outbreaks in 1,103 communes of 48 provinces and cities, with 81,030 pigs having to be destroyed, 2.6 times higher than the same period in 2023. However, in the province, since the beginning of 2024, no ASF cases have been recorded.
At the meeting, the relevant departments discussed and proposed coordinated solutions to prevent and combat ASF. The relevant departments will increase patrols and controls to prevent and strictly handle those who illegally transport pigs and pig products from other provinces to Binh Duong. At the same time, the departments will inspect and strictly handle cases of trading and transporting sick pigs, pigs of unknown origin or pigs that have not been quarantined.
Mr. Tran Phu Cuong, Head of the provincial Department of Animal Health and Aquaculture, emphasized that although there has been no outbreak of ASF in the province, sectors and localities must still proactively implement strict control measures to prevent the spread of the disease. He also asked farmers to regularly monitor and supervise pig herds and apply safe and effective farming measures.
