Domestic pepper price on September 22, 2024
Specifically, Dak Lak pepper price was purchased at 151,000 VND/kg, down 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday. Chu Se pepper price (Gia Lai) was purchased at 150,000 VND/kg, up slightly 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday. Dak Nong pepper price today was recorded at 151,000 VND/kg.
In the Southeast region, pepper prices today increased slightly by 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday. Specifically, in Ba Ria - Vung Tau, it is currently at 150,000 VND/kg, an increase of 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday; in Binh Phuoc, pepper prices today are at 150,000 VND/kg.

In the first half of September 2024, Vietnam recorded the export of 6,917 tons of pepper, with a total value of 42.3 million USD. Compared to the previous month, the export volume of pepper decreased by 30%, leading to a continuous decrease in domestic pepper prices in the last three sessions.
Data from the General Department of Customs shows that in the first half of September, Vietnam exported 7,278 tons of pepper, worth 45.4 million USD, up 1.1% in volume and 72.4% in value over the same period last year.
As of September 15, 2024, Vietnam's total pepper export volume was 190,208 tons, worth up to 923.3 million USD, down 2.5% in volume but up 44% in value over the same period. Indonesia and Brazil continued to be the two main pepper suppliers to Vietnam, with imports of 359 tons and 245 tons, respectively.
World pepper price today
Update on world pepper prices from the International Pepper Community (IPC), at the end of the most recent trading session, IPC listed the price of Indonesian Lampung black pepper at 7,715 USD/ton (up 1.66%), and the price of Muntok white pepper at 9,154 USD/ton (up 1.65%).
The price of Brazilian ASTA 570 black pepper was at USD 6,900/ton (down 1.43%). The price of Malaysian ASTA black pepper remained stable at USD 8,800/ton; the price of this country's ASTA white pepper reached USD 10,900/ton (up 2.75%).
Vietnamese black pepper prices today are stable at a high level, trading at 6,800 USD/ton for 500 g/l; 550 g/l at 7,100 USD/ton; white pepper prices at 10,150 USD/ton.
In 2024, Indonesia witnessed strong growth in pepper exports. By the end of July, Indonesia had exported 22,829 tons of pepper, reaching a value of more than 111 million USD.
Compared to the same period last year, export volume increased by 55.6% and value increased by 59.6%. The average export price of pepper from Indonesia in the first 7 months of the year was 4,869 USD/ton, up slightly by 2.5% compared to the previous year but still lower than other leading producing countries.
According to IPC, the pepper market has been volatile recently. Indian pepper prices both domestically and internationally have increased since last week. The strengthening of the Indonesian Rupiah against the USD (IDR 15,269 to 1 USD) has contributed to the increase in Indonesian pepper prices.
