Pepper prices are unlikely to increase in the near future due to reduced demand in major markets such as the United States, the European Union and Asia. China continues to import pepper but in insignificant quantities.
According to Mr. Le Duc Huy, General Director of Dak Lak 2/9 Import-Export Company Limited - Simexco, Vietnam still has about 30% of inventory, about 50,000 to 55,000 tons. Traditional markets are not rushing to buy more, waiting for a more stable price.
Despite the somewhat reduced supply, there are no signs of a sharp increase in pepper prices as at the beginning of the year. Despite farmers’ hopes for higher prices, pepper prices are likely to stabilize at current levels in the near future.
