World pepper price today

In the world market, based on quotes from export enterprises and export prices in various countries, the International Pepper Community (IPC) has updated the prices of all types of pepper traded in the international market on February 6 (local time) as follows:

Malaysia's ASTA black pepper price is stable compared to yesterday at 9,000 USD/ton. In addition, the country's ASTA white pepper price is also stable compared to yesterday at 11,600 USD/ton.

Prices of all types of pepper in Vietnam increased slightly compared to yesterday. Of which, the price of Vietnamese black pepper 500 gr/l reached 6,500 USD/ton (up 2.31%); the price of 550 gr/l reached 6,650 USD/ton.

According to the Vietnam Pepper and Spices Association (VPSA), global pepper output in 2025 is forecast to continue to decrease compared to 2024, marking the fourth consecutive year of decline since 2022.

This reflects the fact that pepper is no longer the main crop of many farmers, especially in the context of the significant increase in economic value of other crops such as durian, coffee and oil palm. In addition, climate change with extreme weather events has reduced productivity and increased the cost of maintaining pepper production.

Global pepper prices in 2025 are expected to remain high due to reduced supply, while demand in major markets such as the US and Europe remains stable. Pepper use in the food and spice processing industries remains the main driver of the market.

In 2025, Brazil’s output is expected to recover, while Indonesia’s output could decline due to investment constraints and unfavorable weather conditions. India, a major consumer, is also expected to see a decline in output due to the impact of floods, which have led farmers to limit investment and liquidate inventories as domestic prices fall.
