Pepper price today February 8, 2025: Sharp increase of 4,000 VND/kg
Today's domestic pepper price, February 8, is at 154,000 - 157,000 VND/kg. A sharp increase of 3,000 to 4,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday. The pepper price trend in the coming days will depend on the supply in Vietnam.
Domestic pepper price today
The highest pepper purchase price in key pepper growing areas (Dak Lak, Lam Dong, Gia Lai, Dak Nong, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Binh Phuoc) was recorded at 157,000 VND/kg.
Specifically, in Dak Nong province, pepper price is at 157,000 VND/kg. An increase of 4,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
In Gia Lai, pepper price is 154,000 VND/kg. Increased 3,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
In Dak Lak, pepper price is 156,000 VND/kg. Increased 3,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
In Binh Phuoc and Dong Nai, pepper price today is at 156,000 VND/kg. An increase of 4,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
In Ba Ria - Vung Tau, pepper price today is at 155,000 VND/kg. An increase of 3,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Thus, today's pepper price in the domestic market is currently at its lowest price of 154,000 VND/kg.

Due to the Lunar New Year holiday, pepper import and export activities decreased in January 2025.
Preliminary statistics from the Vietnam Pepper and Spices Association (VPSA) show that in January 2025, Vietnam exported 13,085 tons of pepper of all kinds, of which black pepper reached 10,502 tons and white pepper reached 2,583 tons. Total export turnover reached 87.7 million USD, compared to December 2024, the export volume decreased by 14.3% and compared to the same period in 2024, the export decreased by 26.4%.
The average export price of black pepper in the month reached 6,626 USD/ton, white pepper reached 8,467 USD/ton, up 2.3% for black pepper and 3.3% for white pepper compared to the previous month.
World pepper price today
In the world market, based on quotes from export enterprises and export prices in various countries, the International Pepper Community (IPC) has updated the prices of pepper of all types traded in the international market on February 8 (local time) as follows:
Indonesia's Lampung black pepper price remained unchanged from yesterday at $7,283/ton. Meanwhile, Muntok white pepper price remained stable from yesterday at $9,780/ton.
Brazilian black pepper ASTA 570 price increased slightly compared to yesterday at 6,400 USD/ton (up 1.56%).
Malaysia's ASTA black pepper price is stable compared to yesterday at 9,000 USD/ton. In addition, the country's ASTA white pepper price is also stable compared to yesterday at 11,600 USD/ton.
Prices of all types of pepper in Vietnam remained stable compared to yesterday. Of which, the price of 500 gr/l black pepper in Vietnam reached 6,500 USD/ton; 550 gr/l reached 6,650 USD/ton.
Similarly, Vietnam's white pepper price remained unchanged from yesterday at $9,550/ton.
Pepper is gradually losing its position as a staple crop as the economic value of durian, coffee and oil palm increases. At the same time, the impact of climate change reduces productivity and increases farming costs.
In 2024, Vietnam exported 250,600 tons of pepper, reaching a turnover of more than 1.3 billion USD. Of which, black pepper contributed 1.12 billion USD with 220,269 tons, while white pepper reached 200 million USD with 30,331 tons. Exports to the US and EU recorded a sharp increase, while the Chinese market hit its lowest level in the past 9 years.
