The Ministry of Finance has just published the recommended wholesale and retail prices of 6 enterprises producing and trading milk for children under 6 years old so that localities can check and review the determination and registration of prices of 6 enterprises trading these products locally.
Accordingly, in addition to wholesale prices, 6 businesses also offer recommended retail prices to consumers for 181 products.
6 milk production and trading enterprises include Mead Johnson Nutrition VN Company, 3A Nutrition JSC - distributor of Abbott milk products, Nestlé VN Company Limited, Tien Tien Distribution LLC - exclusive distributor of Mead Johnson milk products, Organic VN Trading and Development JSC and Friesland Campina VN Company.
Among 181 products, Similac GainPlus IQ (with Intelli-Pro) 1.7kg by Abbott has the highest recommended retail price of 727,000 VND/box. Next is Baby's Only Organic milk (0-12 months) 900g by Organic Vietnam Trading and Development Joint Stock Company at 710,000 VND/box...
A representative of the Price Management Department (Ministry of Finance) stated that the retail price that businesses recommended would only increase by 5-12% of the wholesale price, lower than the prescribed 15% of the wholesale price.
In addition, the Ministry of Finance also requested local Departments of Finance to base on the maximum wholesale price list, registered price and recommended retail price to check, review and monitor the determination of maximum retail price and register retail price to consumers.
From tomorrow, June 21, the official retail price of milk will be applied according to the ceiling price as regulated by the Ministry of Finance. To ensure the rights of consumers, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Industry and Trade have announced a hotline to receive feedback on milk prices.
