Pretending to have a heart attack, the girl tricked the 'pervert'
While being raped, Hue pretended to have a heart attack and asked Tung to take her to the hospital, then shouted for help.
On the afternoon of March 14, the Hanoi People's Court opened an appeal hearing to consider the request for a reduced sentence for Vi Van Tung (27 years old, from Bac Giang) for the crime of Rape (Clause 1, Article 111, Penal Code 1999). However, before the trial took place, Tung withdrew his appeal.
According to the first instance verdict nearly three months ago by the People’s Court of Bac Tu Liem District, Tung met Hue through Facebook a year ago. On August 26, 2017, Tung picked her up on his motorbike to go to the walking street of Hoan Kiem Lake.
After that, Tung took the girl to the West Lake roadside to drink water. At around 10:30 pm that same day, Hue wanted to go home because it was late, Tung pretended to agree because he wanted to have sex.
Knowing that Hue was not familiar with the road, Tung drove her around to the Red River dike (Lien Mac ward, Bac Tu Liem district). The girl wanted to go home because the road was deserted and far from the residential area, but Tung did not listen.
Hue jumped out of the car but was grabbed by the pervert, then threatened and raped. While Tung was having sex with her, the girl pretended to have a heart attack and told Tung to go buy medicine to escape him.
Since the pharmacies were closed, Tung drove Hue to Nam Thang Long Hospital for a check-up. Seeing the police nearby, she immediately called for help. Tung sped away but was arrested the next day.
Tung was sentenced to 24 months in prison.
