Gasoline price today May 13, 2025: Slight decrease
Gasoline price today May 13, 2025: World oil prices slightly decreased. Domestic gasoline prices are likely to be adjusted up in the upcoming adjustment period on May 15.
World oil prices
As of 11:00 on May 13, Brent oil price decreased by 0.15 USD/barrel (equivalent to a decrease of 0.22%) to 64.82 USD/barrel. WTI oil also decreased by 0.22 USD/barrel (equivalent to a decrease of 0.36%) to 61.73 USD/barrel.
According to Reuters, the agreement between the US and China to suspend tariffs for 90 days has had a positive effect on commodity markets, including oil. Investors expect that the easing of trade tensions will boost oil demand, especially since these two countries are the world's largest oil consumers.
Many experts consider this agreement a bigger step than expected, although further negotiations still face many risks. However, the optimism has somewhat strengthened the short-term energy market sentiment.
Saudi Arabia’s Aramco, OPEC’s largest producer, also expressed hope that oil demand this year will be stable, or even increase sharply if the US and China resolve their trade dispute. At the same time, Iraq – OPEC’s second-largest oil producer – announced that crude oil exports are falling significantly, to only about 3.2 million barrels per day in May and June, lower than in previous months.
However, the rise in oil prices is still being partly restrained by the progress of negotiations between the US and Iran on the nuclear program. According to Reuters, if the two sides reach an agreement, sanctions on Iran's oil exports could be removed, thereby increasing supply to the market and putting pressure on oil prices.
In the context of world oil prices continuing to increase, the possibility that domestic gasoline prices will be adjusted upward in the operating period on May 15 is completely reasonable.

Domestic gasoline prices
Domestic gasoline prices on May 13 are stable, but are likely to increase again in the adjustment period on May 15 due to the influence of the upward trend of world oil prices last week.
Specifically, the current retail prices are as follows:
E5 RON 92 gasoline is not more than 18,777 VND/liter
RON 95-III gasoline is not more than 19,179 VND/liter
Diesel oil not more than 16,809 VND/liter
Kerosene not more than 16,941 VND/liter
Fuel oil not exceeding 15,533 VND/kg
According to forecasts, the increase in world oil prices of more than 1 USD/barrel in recent sessions will likely cause the domestic gasoline price reduction chain to pause and return to an upward trend in the upcoming adjustment period on May 15.
In the most recent adjustment period, all petroleum products were reduced in price: E5 RON 92 decreased by 377 VND/liter, RON 95-III decreased by 407 VND/liter, diesel decreased by 550 VND/liter, kerosene decreased by 623 VND/liter and mazut decreased by 665 VND/kg.
Since the beginning of 2025, domestic gasoline prices have undergone 19 adjustments, including 9 decreases, 7 increases and 3 opposite adjustments between products.
