(Baonghean.vn) - Japanese Yen increased in price across banks; crude oil prices continued to rise worldwide after Russia's fuel export ban; domestic coffee prices decreased slightly, these are market news on September 23.

Japanese Yen increases across banks

According to a survey by the Industry and Trade Newspaper, the exchange rateJapanese YenToday (September 23) at the highest bank, Eximbank, the buying rate is 161.86 VND/JPY, up 0.54 VND and the selling rate increased 0.16 VND at the buying price to 166.37 VND/JPY.

Today, in the black market, the Japanese Yen/VND exchange rate increased by 0.11 VND in both buying and selling directions, trading at 164.26 VND/JPY and 165.26 VND/JPY, respectively.

The yen fell to a low of 148.42 yen per dollar, near the 150 yen level that analysts said could raise the possibility of government intervention to support the currency. The dollar was last up 0.43 percent at 148.23 yen.

“I think it’s quite dovish and that’s why we’re seeing the yen break above 148,” said Alvin Tan, head of Asia foreign exchange strategy at RBC Capital Markets.

Speculation that Tokyo might intervene to support the yen has grown. Japanese Finance Minister Shunichi Suzuki said on Friday he would not rule out any options, warning that a sell-off in the yen would hurt the trade-dependent economy.

World oil prices continue to rise after Russia's fuel export ban

Data from Oilprice shows that at 9:37 a.m. on September 22 (Vietnam time), Brent crude oil was trading at $93.71 per barrel, up $0.41, or 0.46%, from the previous session. WTI crude oil was at $90.12 per barrel, up $0.49, or 0.55%, from the previous session.

At 9:17 p.m. on September 22 (Vietnam time), Brent oil price reached 94.57 USD/barrel, up 1.27 USD, equivalent to 1.36% compared to the previous session. WTI oil price was at 91.25 USD/barrel, up 1.62 USD, equivalent to 1.81% compared to the previous session.

Oil prices jumped after Russia banned fuel exports in an effort to meet supply shortages. The Russian government announced on September 21 that it had temporarily banned gasoline and diesel exports to all countries except four former Soviet republics. The ban took effect immediately in an effort to stabilize the domestic fuel market.

Domestic coffee price decreased by 200 VND/kg

The price of green coffee beans (coffee beans, fresh coffee beans) in Lam Dong province in Bao Loc, Di Linh, Lam Ha districts, is purchased at 66,100 VND/kg.

In Dak Lak province, today's coffee price in Cu M'gar district is at 66,500 VND/kg. In Ea H'leo district, Buon Ho town, it is purchased at the same price of 66,600 VND/kg.

Similarly, coffee prices in some countries around the world are also dyed red.
