Village elder Vu Tong Cai, who is 90 years old this year, a man who has devoted his whole life to Hoi Son, could not hide his joy, his voice trembling: it has been almost 100 years - now I live in Hoi Son but have never seen such a big car entering the village. In the past, people in Hoi Son village had to walk to buy goods. Now, thanks to the Party, the State, and the Border Guard, they have built a big road for people in Hoi Son village so that cars can "carry" goods to the villagers. The old man is very pleased.
To complete this road, the Nghe An Border Guard Command has invested more than 30 million VND and hundreds of working days of officers and soldiers of Border Guard Station 551, together with local forces and people, to expand the road from Huoi Sen intersection to Huoi Son village, 2 km long, ensuring that cars can reach the village center. After a period of urgent and active construction, regardless of day or night, rain or wind, with the help of Company 85, Military Region 4, officers and soldiers of Station 551 and people of Huoi Son village have excavated more than 3,000m3 of earth and rock. Up to now, the road to the village has been expanded and completed on schedule, meeting the set goals and requirements, making it easy and convenient for motor vehicles, cars and trucks to enter and exit the village. This is a road of great significance, demonstrating the affection and responsibility of the Border Guard for the lives of people on the border in general and the ethnic minorities of Huoi Son village in particular; contributing to the economic, cultural and social development of ethnic minorities in the border area.
Lieutenant Colonel Phan Tien Quy, head of Post 551, with his pants rolled up past his knees, was directing the unit's officers and soldiers to complete the final stages for the inauguration day. He said: Receiving the plan from the Provincial Border Guard Command to help the people of Huoi Son village build a road, the unit organized 20 officers and soldiers to directly "stay in the village" to work with the local people to cut through the mountains to "find" the road. The completed road has met the expectations of the people of Huoi Son village and the officers and soldiers of the unit have been able to conveniently carry out their tasks in the area.
