As a result, 118 works were selected for awards, including 9 A prizes, 26 B prizes, 54 C prizes and 29 Encouragement prizes.
This is the 9th season and the first year that the National Press Awards are implemented according to the Project to improve the quality of the National Press Awards according to Decision No. 1694/QD-TTg, dated September 22, 2014 of the Prime Minister.
Mr. Thuan Huu said that according to the general assessment, the quality of press works at both central and local levels has been improved and is relatively even. However, the print press commentary and press photography categories still do not have many truly outstanding works. In some categories of awards, the quality of the works is good. The print press investigative reportage and reportage groups; television investigative reportage and reportage groups have more even quality. The print press news, reflection articles, and memoirs groups have richer content, with many articles being carefully invested.
The awarded works are typical works, with discovery, vividly reflecting all aspects of life, focusing on reflecting the country's major issues, contributing to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland, and having good quality in terms of expression.
In particular, the works closely followed the country's political tasks in 2014 with many new difficulties and challenges; in particular, they strongly reflected the issues of security and national defense, especially protecting the sacred sovereignty of the Fatherland's seas and islands; fighting against corruption and negativity; fighting against hostile forces and wrongful activities against the State and the regime.
The 9th National Press Awards Ceremony and Award Ceremony 2014 will be solemnly held on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day, on the evening of June 21, at the Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Cultural Palace, broadcast live on VTV1, VTV6 of Vietnam Television and local television stations./
