VNPT Nghe An Cup Table Tennis Tournament

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of May 30, VNPT Nghe An coordinated with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the province to organize the first "VNPT Nghe An Cup" Table Tennis Tournament in the North Central region.

This year’s table tennis tournament has 6 events, attracting more than 100 athletes from districts, cities, towns and high school students from 4 provinces: Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Thanh Hoa and Quang Binh. The tournament starts from May 30 to June 1, 2014. This afternoon and evening, the qualifying matches have begun.

Comrade Ho Mau Thanh, Provincial Party Committee member, Director of the Department of Sports and Tourism presented souvenir flags to representatives of the competing teams.

Athletes compete in the qualifying round.

The first open table tennis tournament held in Nghe An is meaningful in creating a playground, exchanging and learning between athletes inside and outside the province. This is also an opportunity for athletes to compete in professional level in table tennis. The organizing committee hopes that the tournament will continue to be expanded to attract more table tennis players in the North Central region, thereby promoting the movement of physical training in general and table tennis in particular.
