The overwhelming 6-1 victory over Singapore on the opening day made the home team's spirit very comfortable, and they entered the match against U21 Thailand with full confidence. Therefore, coach Dinh Van Dung's students almost controlled the match throughout the first half and had many dangerous attacks on the opponent's goal. However, it was not until the end of the first half that Dinh Bao had a close-range shot to open the score 1-0 for the home team in the 45th minute.
In the 65th minute, a Thai player handled the ball in the 16m50 box, Korean referee Ko Hyung Jin immediately awarded the home team a penalty, and captain Hoang Thinh raised the score to 2-0 for U21 Thanh Nien Vietnam.
Riding on the momentum, Thanh Nien Vietnam players continuously overwhelmed goalkeeper Sudprasert's goal. Unfortunately, their shots were either inaccurate or not dangerous, so 2-0 was the final result of the match.
