Rescue 19 victims trapped in 9-story hotel fire
Authorities used a ladder truck to rescue 19 people trapped in a burning 9-story hotel.

According to initial information, at around 3:40 p.m. on March 24, people discovered smoke and fire rising from the 9-story Hanh Long Hotel on Tran Hung Dao Street (District 5, Ho Chi Minh City) and immediately shouted.
Everyone in the hotel rushed out to escape, but the fire broke out, trapping some people inside.
Upon receiving the news, the Fire Police force of District 1 coordinated with District 5 to mobilize 8 fire trucks and 2 specialized ladder trucks to the scene to carry out fire fighting and rescue.
Tran Hung Dao Street was also temporarily blocked to serve fire fighting work.

Authorities deployed a ladder truck to the 7th floor of the hotel, removed windows to rescue victims trapped on the hotel floors and brought them down. Many soldiers entered the lower floors of the hotel to search for trapped people.

As of 4:15 p.m. the same day, the fire was basically extinguished. Firefighters rescued 19 people, including many foreigners temporarily staying there.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
