The 4th Phoenix-Trung Do Cycling Race, Nghe An Television Cup
(Baonghean.vn) -This morning, October 7, in Vinh City, Nghe An Radio and Television Station coordinated with Vinh City People's Committee to organize the 4th Phuong Hoang-Trung Do Cycling Race, Nghe An Television Cup 2012.
Attending the opening ceremony were representatives of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Nghe An Journalists Association, Vinh City People's Committee, a number of provincial departments, businesses, sponsors, and nearly 300 athletes from 27 cycling clubs nationwide.
This year's tournament includes 2 competitions: The amateur tournament is for athletes aged 48 and over, distance 30 km (equivalent to 12 laps, from 10 Truong Thi Street to Ho Tung Mau - Le Mao - Tran Phu Street and back to the starting point). The advanced tournament is for athletes under 48 years old, distance 55 km (equivalent to 20 laps on the above route).

Of the 27 teams participating in this tournament, nearly half have participated since the tournament began. The farthest team is Vung Tau City Athletics Club, Buon Ma Thuot City Athletics Club; the province with the most participating teams is Thanh Hoa with 3 Athletics Clubs participating. The team with the most senior athletes is Viet Tri City Athletics Club, with 2 athletes over 76 years old, and also the team with the oldest athlete: Mr. Nguyen Manh Hai, 77 years old. Notably, this year, 4 Japanese athletes from Thang Long - Hanoi Athletics Club also participated. In the advanced tournament, there were many strong clubs participating such as: Da Nang and Hanoi Athletics Clubs. Some clubs participating for the first time were: Bac Giang, Viet Tri, Bac Ninh.

First, second and third prizes were awarded to the teams of the advanced category.
At the end of the tournament, in the amateur category: First prize went to athlete Nguyen Quang Trung (Thang Long - Hanoi Sports Cycling Club); Vinh City Sports Cycling Club won First prize for the team category. In the advanced category: Athlete Nguyen Hao No. 137 (Da Nang Sports Cycling Club) won First prize; 2 athletes: Nguyen Trung Hieu, Nguyen Minh Toan (Vinh City Sports Cycling Club) won Second and Third prizes. Vinh City Sports Cycling Club also won First prize for the team category; Da Nang Sports Cycling Club won Second prize. First prize for the amateur category was awarded to athlete OTA Japan (of Thang Long - Hanoi Sports Cycling Club). In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded a number of secondary prizes and 10 consolation prizes for 2 racing categories.
