Voters of Thong Thu commune petitioned about the shortcomings in the Hua Na Hydropower Resettlement Area. |
In particular, focusing on the following issues: The total compensation and site clearance amount that Hua Na Hydropower Company still owes to the people is 9,282,117,000 VND; 33 households have not yet built auxiliary works, 19 households have not been provided with domestic water tanks; asphalt roads (about 4 km) in Ca Na - Phu Lam; Huoi Dua - Na Hum villages have not been constructed and about 4.5 km of concrete roads in some villages have not been completed; about 21,500m2 of rice fields and fish ponds have not been compensated; rice support has not been provided on time (3 months/time); urgently requesting land to be divided for people to produce, because when the State's rice support period expires, how will the lives of people in resettlement areas be? Mr. Luong Thuong Hien, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Thong Thu Commune, said: “To mobilize people from 8 villages/769 households to move out of the reservoir area to make way for Hua Na Hydropower Plant, officials at all levels have propagated and promised the people that they will fulfill their commitments, especially the support and compensation payments for site clearance, not to let debts drag on; the facilities serving the people's lives are guaranteed... Now the hydropower plant has come into operation, the electricity has been connected to the national grid, but issues related to the people's rights have not been addressed?”.
Previously, in many residential area and residential cluster meetings of Thong Thu and Dong Van communes, people all said that the government had not fully fulfilled its promises to the people. Mr. Luong Quoc Hung, a voter from Loc village and former Party Secretary of Thong Thu commune, expressed his opinion: "I wonder when the people resettled by Hua Na Hydropower Plant will receive all the compensation money and then be divided land for production? I really hope the province will pay attention and resolve the outstanding issues in the resettlement areas of Hua Na Hydropower Plant.
