Vovinam - Viet Vo Dao Tournament before Phu Dong Health Festival 2016
(Baonghean.vn) - Nghe An Vovinam Association has just held a memorial service for the late martial artist Nguyen Loc, founder of Vovinam-Viet Vo Dao. Attending the memorial service were martial artists, coaches in the Executive Committee of Vovinam Association and hundreds of Vovinam students of Nghe An-Ha Tinh.

This is an annual traditional ceremony of the sect, for Viet Vo Dao students from all over the country and the world to return to their roots, to show gratitude to the founding master, the late master, and the late senior masters who worked hard to build the sect and teach Viet Vo Dao.
Also on the same day, the Vovinam Association organized the Vovinam - Viet Vo Dao Tournament before the 2016 Phu Dong Health Festival for high school students.
The tournament had 20 units and schools with nearly 100 athletes competing in 13 weight categories for men and women from 42 kg to 57 kg.

The tournament is held to select athletes for the student team to participate in the National Phu Dong Sports Festival held from July 19, 2016 in Thanh Hoa.
The tournament also aims to create opportunities for students to compete, gain experience, improve their skills and evaluate their training process... creating a premise for organizing the annual Nghe An Student Vovinam Tournament.
