This afternoon (December 21), Director of the Department of Education and Training Thai Van Thanh, representatives of the Education Trade Union and leaders of Vinh city directly visited students being treated at General Hospital 115.
Through this, the Department's leaders also hope that families will sympathize with the school, because this is an undesirable situation. At the same time, they request that schools also learn from experience and review their facilities to avoid similar incidents.

Visiting the students, the Director of the Department of Education and Training also requested school leaders to pay attention to and support the students, and promptly encourage them to study with peace of mind. For those who are injured and undergoing treatment, the school needs to have a plan to provide tutoring and remedial training immediately after they return to school.

Previously, in the first class this morning (December 21), in class 11A9 -Hermann Gmeiner High SchoolThe wooden ceiling suddenly collapsed, injuring many students. This classroom building was built and put into use nearly 30 years ago. The entire project was funded by an international organization with solid, modern classrooms. In addition to the ceiling and tile roof, the classrooms also have wooden ceilings to ensure warmth in winter and coolness in summer.

The unfortunate accident resulted in 10 students being hospitalized. As of this afternoon (December 21), 7 students with minor injuries have been discharged from the hospital and are continuing to return home for monitoring. The remaining students, including a female student initially diagnosed with a broken spine, have been transferred to Hanoi for treatment. Accompanying this student, in addition to her relatives, is a Vice Principal of the school. In addition, 2 students are continuing to receive treatment at General Hospital 115, including 1 student with a broken leg and 1 student continuing to be monitored for a traumatic brain injury.

Speaking to Nghe An Newspaper this afternoon, Mr. Le Truong Son - Deputy Head of the Department of Education and Training of Vinh City said: This morning, the city requested all schools in Vinh City to review all facilities and immediately report to the city if there is a risk of unsafety. In particular, the area where the classroom with the collapsed ceiling at Hermann Gmeiner High School will be temporarily not used to ensure the safety of students.
