(Baonghean.vn) - The incident happened this morning (December 21), at Hermann Gmeiner High School (Vinh city). The wooden ceiling suddenly collapsed during class, injuring many students.
Speaking to Nghe An Newspaper this morning, Mr. Nguyen Trong Hoan - Chief of Office of the Department of Education and Training said: The Department has just received a report from Hermann Gmeiner High School about the incident that occurred at the school. Accordingly, during the morning class, the wooden ceiling of class 11A9 suddenly collapsed, injuring many students.

Currently, all of these students have been taken to Hospital 115 for emergency treatment. At first, through initial investigation, they suffered from abrasions and injuries.
Nghe An Newspaper’s own source from Hospital 115 also said that by 9am this morning, 10 students had been admitted to the hospital and at this time they were still receiving first aid. According to initial information, 1 student suffered a traumatic brain and spinal injury, and 1 student had a broken leg.
After initial first aid, the case of traumatic brain and spinal injury was transferred to Viet Duc Hospital (Hanoi).

Previously, through images taken directly from the classroom, it was shown that the wooden roof had collapsed quite a bit, the classroom was littered with wood and some construction materials. A student in the school said: The ceiling collapsed at around 7am this morning. At that time, most of the students were in the classroom. When the ceiling collapsed, they heard a rather loud noise.


Regarding this incident, Mr. Nguyen Trong Hoan also said: The Department has requested the school to urgently provide first aid, ensure the health and mental peace of the students. At the same time, quickly check and review all school facilities.
At Herman Germeiner High School (Vinh City), the scene of the accident is being blocked off by authorities for investigation. Many people, including parents of students, were also present at the school to watch the incident. However, no one was allowed to enter except those authorised by authorities.
