"Currently, the Prime Minister has approved the plan to reduce BOT fees for group 4 vehicles (trucks with a load capacity from 10 tons to under 18 tons; trucks carrying goods in 20-foot containers) from VND140,000 to VND120,000 and group 5 vehicles (trucks with a load capacity from 18 tons or more; trucks carrying goods in 40-foot containers) from VND200,000 to VND180,000.
At the same time, negotiate with investors to reduce prices at toll stations of BOT projects" - Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung emphasized.
According to Mr. Nguyen Chi Dung, in recent times, the Ministry of Transport has been actively negotiating with investors to continue reducing road service prices (reducing fees) when applying Circular 35 of the Ministry of Transport.
At the time of reporting, out of a total of 73 toll stations for road use services (including: 55 stations belonging to BOT projects that have been completed and put into operation and 18 stations belonging to BOT projects that are under investment and have not yet collected service fees), the Ministry has implemented toll reductions at 35 stations.
Specifically, for 55 completed projects put into operation, 31 stations (for type 4 and type 5 vehicles) have reduced prices; 18 stations currently have low collection rates according to regulations and have not yet reduced prices; the remaining 6 stations have not reduced prices because investors have not agreed to adjust prices.
For 18 projects under investment, discounts have been applied to 4 stations (for type 4 and type 5 vehicles); 9 stations have low collection rates according to regulations and have not yet applied discounts; the remaining 5 stations have not yet applied discounts because investors have not agreed to adjust prices.
The Ministry of Transport has established an interdisciplinary working group to review and propose strengthening price management and supervision; cutting unreasonable surcharges on imported and exported goods transported by sea... to reduce input costs for businesses.
