Supervising the construction of a national standard school in Tan Ky
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of April 23, the Cultural - Social Committee of the Provincial People's Council led by Mr. Tran Cong Duong - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Chief of the Provincial Party Committee Office, Head of the Cultural - Social Committee of the Provincial People's Council as the head of the delegation supervised the construction of a national standard school at Nghia Hoan Secondary School (Tan Ky district). Also participating in the delegation were representatives of the Department of Education and Training and Tan Ky district.
Nghia Hoan Secondary School has 28 classes, with 583 students, an average of 32 students/class. In the process of building a national standard school, the school has had a specific plan to address each criterion. The school has also actively advised on the policy of socialization; encouraged cadres, teachers, staff and students to make efforts to improve the quality of teaching and learning. The school was recognized as a National Standard School in 2007; it is the first secondary school to meet the standards in Tan Ky. The rate of qualified teachers is high, with 97.4%. 21/39 teachers are excellent teachers of the district and there are 3 excellent teachers of the province. The quality of education of the school is always one of the top schools in the district. Socialization work has received the attention and support of parents, contributing to creating a spacious school with 13 high-rise classrooms and practice rooms, computer rooms, libraries, traditions....

However, up to this point, compared to the standards for building new national standard schools, there are still some contents that have not been met, such as lack of school campus area; lack of 8 cultural classrooms to organize teaching 1 session/day, lack of music classrooms, English classrooms; lack of clerical staff, teaching equipment, and medical care.
On behalf of the monitoring delegation, comrade Tran Cong Duong acknowledged the results that the school has achieved in the past time. He also requested the school to continue to pay attention to maintaining the criteria of a national standard school, especially the quality of teaching and learning. The district and commune need to pay attention to supporting the school with funding to invest in facilities, meeting the requirements of a standard school; pay attention to allocating enough staff and teachers for the school. The Department of Education and Training continues to support the school professionally, improving the quality of teaching and learning.
In the afternoon, the Provincial People's Council's Culture and Social Committee continued to work with Tan Ky district leaders on the construction of national standard schools.
Working with Tan Ky district, the monitoring delegation noted that the district has focused on actively leading and directing the construction of national standard schools in recent times. The district has organized and integrated many programs and capital sources to prioritize the construction of standard schools with a focus, not spread out. The district issued a project to improve the quality of management staff and teachers. In the past 4 years, schools in the area have attracted 26 billion VND to renovate and improve school facilities.
However, the most difficult thing in Tan Ky is the resources to implement the infrastructure standards, so up to now, out of the total 28 schools that have met the national standards in the district, all have benefited from the school consolidation program. The rate of schools that have met the standards is only 41.8%, lower than the rate of the whole province. The difficulty of the district is that there are still many teachers outside the payroll; socialization work is still limited, and there is still a mentality of waiting and relying on officials and people in the work of taking care of and investing in education.
