Meeting on border marker planting between Vietnam and Laos
(Baonghean)Yesterday afternoon, July 2, the Provincial People's Committee held a conference on the work of planting border markers between Vietnam and Laos. Comrade Thai Van Hang, Member of the Provincial Party Committee - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Head of the Steering Committee for planting border markers between Vietnam and Laos chaired.
In June, the provincial Steering Committee for Vietnam - Laos border marker planting coordinated with the National Border Committee - Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Tuong Duong district to organize a joint Vietnam - Laos expert-level bilateral survey team for marker planting location 426 at Tam Hop sub-border gate. Directed 2 marker planting teams to continue implementing tasks in the field according to the approved plan, striving to complete the field survey for the remaining 11 markers by September 20, 2012. As of June 30, 2012, the provincial Steering Committee directed 2 marker planting teams to survey 105/116 markers, and built 86/116 markers.
In his concluding remarks, comrade Thai Van Hang highly appreciated the sense of responsibility and effective coordination of the sectors to do a good job of planting border markers between Nghe An province with Hua Phan and Bo-ly-kham-xay; at the same time, he requested the units to identify this as an urgent task with many difficulties, but they must make efforts to speed up the progress, striving to complete the work of planting markers by December 31, 2012. In July, the two teams of markers continued to survey, design, and supervise the construction to complete the proposed plan.
