Up to now (September 4, 2012), the Vietnam-Laos Border Marker Planting Working Group has surveyed 107/116 markers and built 90/116 Vietnam-Laos border markers. In the coming time, the Steering Committee will urge relevant sectors to strengthen the direction of completing the marker records after having bilateral survey data for appraisal and submission to the Provincial People's Committee for approval. Continue to direct the 2 marker planting teams to continue implementing tasks in the field according to the approved plan, and at the same time develop a specific plan to strive to complete the field survey for the remaining 9 markers by November 30, 2012. Take advantage of the weather and support from the Lao side to promptly implement the construction of the approved border markers; ensure safety and savings during the survey and construction process; complete propaganda documents on marker planting; Synthesize the contents of border marker planting work in the area and participate in the 22nd annual meeting between the two border delegations of Vietnam and Laos in Vientiane.
