2014 Front Work Conference

(Baonghean.vn) - On November 19, in Thanh Chuong district, the Standing Committee of the Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province held a conference to review the Front's work in 2014 in the cluster of districts: Thanh Chuong, Do Luong, Tan Ky, Nghia Dan. Comrade Nguyen Ngoc Nguyen - Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee chaired the conference.

At the conference, the District Fronts reported on the results of implementing the 2014 coordinated action program, especially new points and good experiences in Front work and proposed recommendations to improve the quality of Front activities in the coming time.

In 2014, the activities of the Fatherland Front at all levels had many innovations, successfully organized the Fatherland Front Congress at all levels for the 2014 - 2019 term, implemented Decisions 217 and 218 of the Politburo on the Regulations on social supervision and criticism, and the Regulations on the Fatherland Front participating in giving opinions on Party building and government building. The Fatherland Front at all levels focused on propaganda work, mobilizing people of all walks of life to participate in patriotic emulation movements, improving the quality of the campaign "All people unite to build a cultural life in residential areas" associated with new rural construction; continued to organize and implement well the campaigns "Day for the poor", "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods". Relief work was carried out regularly, promptly, and to the right subjects. The activities of the Front in participating in supervision and government building were more in-depth and clearer. The Fatherland Front Committees of districts and towns have closely followed the programs and plans of the higher-level Fatherland Front, based on the actual situation of the locality, concretized and developed accurate and precise directive plans. The Fatherland Front Congress work was carried out on schedule, ensuring quality.

The delegates also frankly pointed out the limitations, such as: The propaganda work, mobilizing people to carry out patriotic emulation movements, the campaigns are sometimes not timely, in-depth, so the effectiveness is not high; the coordination between the Fatherland Front and the government, member organizations in some activities is not tight, rhythmic; the organization and implementation of some campaigns lack creativity, not high efficiency; the grasp of public opinion, thoughts, and aspirations of people in some places is not timely; the activities of people's supervision, inspection, and community investment supervision have not been fully effective; participation in resolving some complicated cases is still limited. The construction of advanced models and widespread replication is not timely....

Speaking at the end of the Conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Committee Nguyen Ngoc Nguyen highly appreciated the content of the meeting, affirming that all delegates prepared serious and quality reports. He hoped that in the coming time, the Fatherland Front of the districts would proactively and better perform the work of gathering union members, well implement the campaigns chaired by the Fatherland Front, pay attention to doing well the work of ethnic and religious affairs; organize and implement well the work of supervision and criticism of associations, the work of the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations and people to contribute ideas to Party building and government building. Coordinate and perform well the work of people's inspection, community investment supervision; participate in resolving complaints and denunciations, mediation activities at the grassroots level; promptly grasp the thoughts and aspirations of all classes of people to reflect to the Party and the State. Pay attention to the work of training cadres, innovating the activities of the Fatherland Front; build a strong Fatherland Front organization and system in all aspects.
