Education in Nghe An province has achieved many new successes.

(Baonghean.vn) - In 2022, the Nghe An Education sector resolutely implemented many solutions to improve the overall quality of education and achieved many outstanding results, further affirming Nghe An's position as a "land of learning".

In 2022, the education sector proactively and effectively advised on resolutions, programs, projects, and plans for the province's education development until 2030. Specifically, it advised the Provincial People's Council to approve 6 resolutions, and the Provincial People's Committee to issue 11 projects and plans for the period up to 2030; notably, it advised Nghe An to become the first province to approve the Strategy for Sustainable Development of Education and Training until 2030, with a vision to 2045.

In addition, the Provincial People's Committee has also issued many plans related to building a learning society, approved the list of textbooks for grades 3, 7, and 10, implemented the Program "Strengthening education on revolutionary ideals, ethics, lifestyle and arousing the aspiration to contribute for young people, teenagers and children"; and implemented quality assurance work in general education institutions, giai đoạn 2022-2025, with orientation to 2030 in the province.

The Provincial People's Committee has directed the Education sector to proactively and flexibly complete the tasks of the 2021-2022 school year; organize provincial and national examinations ensuring seriousness, safety, and quality; and implement the tasks of the 2022-2023 school year in a synchronized, scientific, and planned manner. The target for building schools meeting national standards has been exceeded.2022By the end of 2022, the cumulative number of schools meeting national standards will be 1,101, representing 75.66% (exceeding the target by 16 schools).

Breakthroughs in building and effectively implementing leading school and education models in the North Central region: The models include "Child-centered preschools"; "Cooperation between families, schools, and communities in caring for and educating preschool children"; and "Supporting 5-year-old children in the transition from preschool to primary school".

Pilot projects were implemented to build five high-quality key high schools and nine high schools; advanced preschool and general education models in line with international integration trends; new-style boarding primary and secondary schools for ethnic minorities; and piloting boarding secondary schools for ethnic minorities. In collaboration with the Vietnam General Education Innovation Fund (VIGEF), the "Happy School" project was implemented in Vinh City and the districts of Nghia Dan, Con Cuong, and Do Luong. The model for ensuring quality in general education institutions was the first of its kind implemented nationwide.

Completed the compilation of local education materials for grades 3, 7, and 10 according to the 2018 General Education Program and continued to implement enhanced English, STEM, and Informatics programs; signed cooperation agreements between the department and various sectors and socio-political organizations; effectively implemented models of classroom assistance, school assistance, support for the development of education in mountainous areas, "Green, Clean, Beautiful, and Safe Schools"; and "The Sound of the Drum for Studying".

Continuing to implement synchronized solutions for training, retraining, and appropriate professional development and workshops contributes to improving the quality of teachers and education management staff to meet the requirements of "comprehensive development of learners' qualities and competencies." Promoting cooperation in digital transformation of the education sector, ensuring the dual goal of both changing the form of management, administration, and teaching activities; and meeting the demand for high-quality human resources to form a digital government, digital economy, and digital society; the first phase of the Education Sector's IOC system has been completed. In 2022, teachers from Nghe An won 1 First Prize, 4 Third Prizes, 3 Consolation Prizes, and 1 People's Choice Award in the final round of the Digital Teaching Equipment Development Competition.

The quality of comprehensive education has been affirmed, ranking among the top 5 localities in terms of outstanding students at the national, regional, and international levels. In 2022, Nghe An had 1 student who won a Gold Medal at the Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad, 1 student who won a Silver Medal at the International Informatics Olympiad; 1 student who won a Bronze Medal at the International Mathematics Olympiad; and 97 students who won national awards for outstanding students, including 6 first prizes. In the 2022 high school graduation exam results, Nghe An ranked 20th, an increase of 14 places compared to 2021.

Making a significant mark on the national stage, the school encourages students to be active, creative, and apply their learned knowledge and skills to life. This year, two students won first prize and three second prizes in the "Traffic Safety for Tomorrow's Smile" competition; two first prizes, three third prizes, two special prizes, and three consolation prizes in the "Reading Culture Ambassador 2022" competition; and one second prize in the "Youth Learning and Following the Ideology, Morality, and Style of Ho Chi Minh" competition. In addition, one project won first prize in the voting round and third prize overall in the national competition "Students and Young Entrepreneurs with Startup Ideas"; the school achieved second place overall in the National High School Students' National Defense and Security Education Sports Competition; and two fourth prizes were awarded in the National Science and Technology Competition.

Nghe An is the 25th province to be recognized as having achieved level 3 universal primary education standards, and the quality of universal education continues to improve.

External relations and international cooperation activities have been given attention and implemented effectively. In coordination with the TH School system, an integrated education program for high school students has been implemented to ensure graduation according to international standards and to receive internationally recognized A-level diplomas. Events commemorating the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations and the 45th anniversary of the signing of the Vietnam-Laos Friendship and Cooperation Treaty have been organized. Undergraduate and postgraduate training for 100 Lao officials and students, and Vietnamese language training for 111 Lao students were provided in 2022, with procedures completed for 101 Lao officials and students and Vietnamese language training for 121 Lao students in 2023. At the end of 2022, the Party Committee of the Department of Education and Training achieved the standard of "Outstanding Performance in Completing Tasks"; the Nghe An Department of Education and Training continued to be ranked excellent by the Provincial People's Committee (for two consecutive years), and was also awarded the Emulation Flag by the Ministry of Education and Training for outstanding achievements and leading the emulation movement "Innovation and Creativity in Management, Teaching and Learning" in the 2021-2022 school year. The sector was also recommended to the Prime Minister for the Emulation Flag for outstanding performance in completing tasks in 2022.
