(Baonghean) -The project to improve community health on communication skills to educate about personal hygiene, hand washing with soap and environmental protection (in Nghe An, the project was implemented in two communes of Xuan Hoa and Van Dien of Nam Dan district) sponsored by the UNILLEVER VIETNAM Foundation, has the content of health communication and education in schools.

The objectives of health education in schools are: to make students aware of their health problems and needs; to promote students' lifestyles through correct requirements in health concepts and attitudes so that they can choose ways to improve their health and lives; to improve the health environment of schools and families; to promote the role of students in disseminating health knowledge to the community, to actively promote and respond to national health programs for the community and national health programs conducted locally. The project guides students on how to wash their hands with soap; how to keep toilets and urinals clean; appropriate water supply construction techniques; how to collect and treat garbage and wastewater.

The methods and techniques for conducting health education in schools are based on materials for teachers with a number of health issues, each issue is divided into many different types of activities to help teachers identify learning objectives, indicate the actions that students will carry out while learning and the actual conditions for application.

In our country, in schools, health education is a compulsory subject with the sponsorship of UNICEF. After a period of experimentation, this subject has become an official subject for primary school students, and is now integrated into natural and social subjects (grades 1, 2, 3) and science subjects (grades 4, 5). From the communication method of the Community Capacity Building Project implemented in two communes of Xuan Hoa and Van Dien, schools and localities in the province with the same conditions can visit and learn to apply when there is support and sponsorship from programs and projects on implementing communication to raise awareness and perception of health for students.
