Pope prays for victims of car bomb in Egypt
The Pope expressed his sorrow over the attack on a bus carrying Vietnamese tourists and blessed Egypt to overcome the violence.

In a telegram of condolences sent by the Vatican's foreign minister to the Egyptian president yesterday, Pope Francis expressed "deep sorrow" over the attack near the Giza pyramid complex,APThe Pope blessed Egypt and its people, affirming that "together we will overcome violence with unity and peace".
The Egyptian Interior Ministry announced on the same day that security forces killed 40 militants in raids in the Sinai Peninsula and the Cairo area. The militants were said to be preparing attacks on government-owned tourist facilities and Catholic churches.
A bus carrying a group of Vietnamese tourists was destroyed by a roadside bomb in Giza on December 28. Saigontourist, the tour operator, said the Vietnamese tourists were "on their way to a restaurant for dinner." No one has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
According to the Vietnamese Embassy in Egypt, the vehicle involved in the accident had 18 people on board, including 15 Vietnamese citizens and 3 Egyptians. Three Vietnamese and an Egyptian tour guide were killed. 3 seriously injured victims have undergone surgery and 9 people with less serious injuries are recovering well.
