Exchange to celebrate 40 years of Vietnam - Japan diplomatic relations and Vietnam - Japan Friendship Year
(Baonghean.vn) -On the afternoon of June 11, the Union of Friendship Organizations and the Vietnam-Japan Friendship Association held a Friendship Exchange to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan (1973-2013) and the Vietnam-Japan Friendship Year.
Also attending were Mr. Hirofumi Miyake - Counselor, Head of Economic Section of the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam; Mr. Inami Kazumi - Director of the Japan Foundation Center for Cultural Exchange; Mr. Amma Yukiho - President of Asaba Vietnam Association, Mr. Toichi Nizuma - General Secretary of the Japan - Vietnam Friendship Association and representatives of Japanese enterprises implementing projects in Vietnam. On the side of Nghe An province, there were comrades: Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Dinh Thi Le Thanh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; along with representatives of a number of departments, branches, localities and a large number of students from a number of universities and colleges located in the area.

At the meeting, Comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong - Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee delivered a speech, affirming that over the past 40 years, the friendly cooperation between the two countries has been constantly consolidated and has developed rapidly in both breadth and depth, in many fields such as economy, culture, national defense and security, education, health, labor cooperation, etc. Today, that relationship has been upgraded to a strategic partnership. This friendly meeting is an opportunity for the two countries to review the achievements over the past 4 decades, demonstrating the deep, loyal, long-term and sustainable affection, and the wholehearted support of the Government and people of Japan for Vietnam.
Particularly for Nghe An province, in recent years, with the attention of the Government and central ministries, Nghe An has proactively strengthened cooperation with organizations such as Jica, Jetro, the Embassy of Japan in Hanoi and Japanese organizations to promote investment, increase mobilization of humanitarian aid and scholarships. Among them, it is necessary to mention ODA projects that Japan has provided aid to Nghe An such as: Reproductive health care project, worth 10 million USD, project to improve living conditions in rural areas of Nam Dan district with a value of 15 million USD. Japan is also an important country among investors in Nghe An with a registered capital of 1,200 million USD. For many years, Nghe An province has also had friendly cooperative relations with some provinces of Shizuoka, Tsukuba and some organizations such as the Japan - Vietnam Bridge Association, Asaba Japan Association, Japan Cultural Exchange Center, Japan Association of People with Disabilities, etc.
The Japanese representative, Mr. Hirofumi Miyake - Counselor, Head of Economic Section of the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam, also on behalf of the Japanese government, expressed his thanks for the solemn ceremony organized by Nghe An province. At the same time, he expressed his hope that in the coming time, the relationship between Japan and Vietnam in general, and Nghe An province in particular, will continue to develop and expand in many fields of trade, education, investment attraction, labor export, etc.
