Exchange "Joining hands to protect Vietnam's sea and island sovereignty"
(Baonghean.vn) - On the evening of July 1, 2014, the 873rd Water Transport Brigade (Logistics Department of Military Region 4) coordinated with the Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee of Ben Thuy Ward, Vinh City to organize the exchange program "Joining hands to protect Vietnam's sea and island sovereignty".
To encourage the bravery and heroic sacrifice of officers and soldiers of the Coast Guard, Fisheries Surveillance force, Vietnamese fishermen and families whose relatives are on duty to enforce the law to fight against China's illegal placement of the Haiyang 981 drilling rig in the waters of the Hoang Sa archipelago (Vietnam), at the exchange night, 54 units and individuals of the 873rd Water Transport Brigade (Logistics Department of Military Region 4), military units, agencies, enterprises, businesses, schools and people in Ben Thuy ward, Vinh city, Nghe An province, Ha Tinh province donated 111,160,000 VND to officers and soldiers of the Coast Guard, Fisheries Surveillance force and fishermen on duty in the Hoang Sa archipelago (Vietnam).

In the exchange program "Joining hands to protect Vietnam's sea and island sovereignty", officers and soldiers of the 873rd Water Transport Brigade and the Party Committee, government and people of Ben Thuy Ward, Vinh City presented gifts and exchanged and shared with the family of Mr. and Mrs. Phan Ba Uong and Le Thi Minh Duong, whose son Phan Ba Hung is on duty at Nam Yet Island in Truong Sa archipelago (Vietnam). Through the exchange night, it contributes to raising awareness, promoting the tradition of the homeland and country, uniting in the fight to protect the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in the current situation, while encouraging and motivating officers and soldiers of the Coast Guard and other forces to be steadfast in their will and steadfast in sticking to the sea to firmly protect the sacred sea and island sovereignty of the Fatherland Vietnam in all situations.
