According to the Steering Committee for innovation of general education programs and textbooks, the compilation of textbooks this time will focus on reducing the number of subjects, reducing capacity and integrating knowledge.

The reason for this change in the composition of the program and textbook writers is to ensure that the new program and textbooks are suitable for teaching and learning.
Dr. Nguyen Anh Dung, member of the Steering Committee for the innovation of general education programs and textbooks (Ministry of Education and Training) said: “Last time, teachers only evaluated the program after it was completed, without directly developing the program. But this time it will be different. The criteria for selecting authors must be young people, with little experience but with conditions for development; combined with people who have worked on the program, that is, people with a lot of experience but may be old, and definitely must have teachers. Each subject must have a Chief Editor, that person will be responsible to the National Council of Education for the program of that subject from grade 1 to grade 12. And each level of education has an editor, responsible for implementing the connection and development of that subject.”
