Teachers continue to receive seniority allowances
The National Assembly Standing Committee has agreed to continue implementing the seniority allowance regime for teachers until the new salary policy is implemented.
The information was given at a meeting between National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan and 183 outstanding teachers and education managers nationwide on the occasion of Vietnamese Teachers' Day, November 20, which took place on the morning of November 15.
Here, Minister of Education and Training Phung Xuan Nha said that identifying the quality of the teaching staff as one of the factors determining the success of educational innovation, the Ministry has submitted and issued legal documents and projects under its authority to improve the quality of the teaching staff and management staff. Policies and regimes for teachers are getting better and better.
"Recent,Ministry of Education and TrainingOn behalf of the Government, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly reported to the National Assembly on the plan to continue implementing the seniority allowance regime for teachers until the new salary policy is implemented. The Standing Committee of the National Assembly agreed and assigned the Government to implement it," Minister Nha informed.

National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan expressed her joy at meeting, respect and gratitude to outstanding teachers and educational administrators, representing nearly 1.5 million teachers across the country.
Appreciating the efforts of the education sector in recent years, the National Assembly Chairman reviewed a number of outstanding results such as: The quality of general education has been increasingly improved, recognized and highly appreciated internationally; the quality of university education has been significantly improved, university autonomy has been promoted, creating breakthroughs in governance, improving the quality of training and scientific research; the team of teachers and education managers has been increasingly consolidated and enhanced in both quantity and quality, and synchronized in structure.

“In 2020, the World Bank ranked Vietnam's human capital index 38th out of 74 economies; in which, Vietnam's education outcomes ranked 15th, equivalent to countries such as the Netherlands, New Zealand, and Sweden,” Ms. Ngan informed and affirmed that this is a proud result.
To achieve these results, according to National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, it is thanks to the efforts of the entire industry, the constant striving and efforts in teaching and learning of generations of teachers and students across the country. Among them, there are teachers who have sacrificed their youth, devoted themselves to students, stayed in school, stayed in class, became second fathers and mothers to students, ... in remote areas, areas with difficult socio-economic conditions, borders, and islands.

Faced with many difficulties of the education sector on the path of innovation, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan expressed her sympathy and said: In the activities of the National Assembly, education is always an issue of concern to delegates and voters. As the head, the Minister of Education and Training always has to face many heavy pressures. Right in this session, the Minister answered questions from National Assembly delegates many times. The Minister's answers were accepted and highly appreciated by the delegates.

“I share with the education sector and the Minister. The role of education is very important in social life activities. The education career is still ahead with many issues that need to be implemented and must be constantly and continuously innovated. We should not see any inadequacies or errors that have not been evaluated, denying all the problems and achievements of teachers and the education sector over the past time,” the National Assembly Chairman emphasized.
