Highland teachers make stone paintings, raise funds to build school library
(Baonghean.vn) - The paintings in the program "Love Painting" not only demonstrate talent and creativity but also contain the feelings and hearts of teachers in the mountainous areas of Tuong Duong district.
Pictures of love
"Family" is the third stone painting on the same theme that teacher Lo Thi Hoe - a teacher at Xa Luong Kindergarten (Tuong Duong) has done in the past 2 weeks. The painting has warm colors, using two materials: watercolor ceramic and stone, bringing viewers feelings of love and connection.
Talking about this, teacher Lo Thi Hoe added: Students in mountainous districts suffer many disadvantages because many of their parents work far away and have to live with their grandparents. Therefore, I made the painting "Family" with the meaning of connection. I hope that when looking at this painting, everyone will love their family more and cherish the moments they have together.

Teacher Lo Thi Hoe is 35 years old this year and has been a preschool teacher for nearly 15 years. Due to the nature of her job, she and her colleagues regularly draw and decorate study corners, toys and equipment. However, drawing to raise funds to support poor students and buy books forlibraryschool is quite new. This activity also brings her many special feelings.
I have drawn quite a few paintings and some of them have been bought. The amount of money is not large but I am really happy because we have spread meaningful work. I also believe that, with this activity, not only me but also the buyers of the paintings are happy because they have contributed a small part to the students in the highlands.
The painting team of Xa Luong Kindergarten has 8 teachers, all of whom are talented in painting. In order to prepare for the “Love Painting” program, over the past few months, after school hours or on holidays, the teachers have come up with ideas, prepared materials and focused on painting with many different themes.

Previously, when building this program, the school's board of directors set a goal, which was to sell paintings created by teachers and students to raise funds to build libraries and reading corners in classrooms, and to give reading light bulbs to 6 poor children in difficult circumstances.
Sharing more about this, Ms. Le Hong Quang - Vice Principal of the school said: Developing a reading culture is a goal that our school has set since the beginning of the school year and to do that, many factors are needed such as building a school library, reading corners in classrooms at remote schools and buying books for students.
In many parts of the work, the school teachers responded to the painting with the hope that the paintings made by teachers and students will be loved, bought and supported by many people. The school has sold quite a few paintings and collected more than 10 million VND and we will continue to bring more joy and meaning to the students.

Spread the meaning
At Tam Hop Kindergarten, not only teachers but the "Love Picture" program also received the participation and response of parents and soldiers of Tam Hop Border Guard Station stationed in the area.
Talking about this program, teacher Le Thi Nhan - Vice Principal of the school said: Most of the preschool students at our school are from poor households, their parents work far away and they live with their grandparents. Because there is no one to take care of them, after school or during summer vacation, the children often go to the river, stream to bathe and play, which is very dangerous.

With the desire to provide students with a meaningful playground, our school has built a bookshelf for students. There, every day in class, students can read books and participate in activities to develop language.
During the summer or when they are not in school, parents can borrow books to read to their children, gradually forming a reading habit in their children. Currently, the children's bookshelf at school has many different books, but there are not many books suitable for preschool age. Therefore, through selling paintings and raising funds, we hope to have more funds to buy books for the students of the school.

In order to create and develop a reading culture from preschool level, teachers and students of preschools in the mountainous district of Tuong Duong are doing a very meaningful job, which is to paint stone paintings to sell to raise funds, buy books and develop libraries in schools. The program has just been implemented but has received a large response from the community.
Dozens of paintings have been successfully sold, not only recognizing the teachers' talents but also expressing the community's love for the education of preschool students in disadvantaged areas.

In recent days, to get beautiful paintings, teachers have traveled long distances, sometimes more than a hundred kilometers, to pick up each stone, clean it, dry it, decorate it, and assemble it into a painting.
During the implementation process, there was also support from young students, parents and many other forces in the area. In many places, parents also joined hands to buy paint and frames to give to the school.

Each painting sold has a different story and meaning. Although the value of a painting is not large, only 300,000 - 700,000 VND, we see behind it the heart and responsibility of the teachers and the schools.
We also thank the benefactors who have supported the program in the past. This will be an invaluable source of encouragement for the program to continue to be implemented and spread, and from there there will be more libraries and more valuable books for students in the highlands.
