Phu Xuan Parish (Quynh Luu): Many activities for the poor during the Lunar New Year

(Baonghean.vn) -On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2012, Phu Xuan Parish (Quang Tinh, Quynh Tam, Quynh Luu) organized many practical activities to help the poor celebrate Tet.

The parish mobilized hundreds of young people to participate in volunteer activities to help the poor, wrapping and cooking more than 2,000 banh chung to give to the poor, the elderly, and the lonely elderly in the commune and Dien Lam commune, Dien Chau district, helping them have a warm Tet. During the 28th and 29th days of Tet, dozens of youth groups, each group of 5-6 people, went to each house to give banh chung to the poor. The final time of the gift giving will end at New Year's Eve tonight.


The volunteer group of Phu Xuan Parish, regardless of the dark, rainy, and cold weather, went to each house to give Tet gifts to the poor and the elderly.

In addition to giving Tet gifts, Phu Xuan Parish also organizes cultural, artistic and sports activities to attract young people to participate in healthy, useful and practical recreational activities. Mr. Chu Van Hung - a member of the volunteer group (Hamlet 4 - Quynh Tam) shared: "The first year the parish organized to give gifts to the poor to celebrate Tet, we were very happy. Next year, we will have more careful preparations and help more poor people to have a warm and happy Tet. Cultural, artistic and sports activities aim to limit gambling, drinking, quarreling among young people and limit traffic accidents during Tet."
