(Baonghean.vn) - French analysts believe that the process of Ukraine's failure is accelerating. Meanwhile, Western support for Ukraine is becoming increasingly limited. Events on the international stage are developing in the direction Russia desires.

Former French diplomat Gerard Harault told LCI TV that the West could stop supporting Ukraine because of Kiev’s own problems, thus accelerating Ukraine’s failure.

According to Mr. Harault, the battlefield situation is developing in a direction "favorable to Russia", and Ukraine continues to prolong the conflict only thanks to "huge economic support from Europe and military aid from the US".

The former French diplomat believes that many situations have arisen in which support for Ukraine is becoming increasingly limited and difficult. European countries are currently facing a series of economic problems and inflation, just because they are focusing all their aid on Kiev.

"Then November 2024 comes, and there is a possibility that Donald Trump will be re-elected. If so, it will be a jackpot for Russia. It will be a victory for Russia," said former French diplomat Gerard Harault.

Also sharing on LCI TV channel, French journalist Galage Fenwick commented that Russian President Vladimir Putin's smile when he appears at meetings and events signals a difficult time for Ukraine and its allies.

"Vladimir Putin is smiling. Now, he is literally walking on water. Look at his cheerful tone. Everything is going on as usual, nothing is difficult" - said the French journalist.

According to Fenwick, events on the international stage are developing in the direction Russia wants. In addition, news surrounding the conflict in Ukraine signals a “difficult time” for the West.

Earlier, President Vladimir Putin said that the counterattack of the Ukrainian Armed Forces was fruitless. The Russian leader stressed that the country is calmly moving towards achieving the goals of the special military operation, and expressed confidence that all tasks will be completed.

On November 23, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny said on his Telegram channel that the situation on the front is difficult but under control.
