(Baonghean) - The country currently has over 18,000 journalists with cards, 383 print press agencies with over 1,000 publications, 67 Radio and Television stations including 3 Central Radio and Television stations (VTV, VTC, VOV) and 64 local Radio and Television stations, 104 broadcast TV channels, 7 pay TV channels; 92 electronic newspapers (including 72 electronic newspapers of print press agencies and Radio and Television stations), 266 electronic information pages, 300 electronic news pages of Party and State agencies and organizations, associations, unions, enterprises, over 8,000 TTCS stations. This is a powerful force in the ideological work of the Party, State and organizations in the political system.
In the past revolutionary cause of national liberation as well as the current cause of national construction and defense, the Vietnamese revolutionary press has made an important contribution to raising Vietnam's position in the international arena. In particular, it has widely propagated the Party's guidelines, policies, directives, resolutions, and the State's laws, aroused the strength of great national unity, created social consensus, and effectively fought against all "peaceful evolution" plots of reactionary and hostile forces against our country's revolution.
Our country is integrating more and more deeply into the globalized world with extremely complex developments. Besides the advantages, we are facing many difficulties and challenges every day and every hour. Our country is still threatened by the plots and tricks of hostile forces to interfere in internal affairs, causing political and social instability, violating the sovereignty of our sacred borders and islands. These forces do not hesitate to use any tricks to bring in distorted information, books, newspapers, and cultural products from outside to distort the policies and guidelines of the Party and State, causing negative psychological effects on the people. They thoroughly use the power of modern media, newspapers, and the Internet to promote and spread hostile and erroneous views, attacking Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh's thought, the guidelines, viewpoints, and policies of our Party and State, aiming to eliminate the leadership role of the Communist Party of Vietnam. Maintaining political and social stability in all circumstances is an extremely important task, a vital requirement for the nation and people. Only with political and social stability can the country and homeland integrate and develop.
