Cigarette smoke not only damages the lungs but also erodes family relationships. Quitting smoking is never easy, but with understanding, patient, and supportive loved ones by your side, the journey becomes less arduous.

Tobacco smoke contains over 4,000 toxic chemicals that are dangerous not only to smokers but also to those who inhale it; however, most people are unaware of this danger. If you have a loved one who is addicted to cigarettes, help them quickly escape this "killer" of health. So how can you help your loved one quit smoking?

First, explain to the smoker the harmful effects and make them determined to quit. Accordingly, cigarettes reduce lifespan and impair sexual function… Other factors include harming others through smoking, especially young children.

Always be aware that smoking also harms those around you who are exposed to secondhand smoke. According to research, secondhand smoke has caused the deaths of thousands of secondhand smokers through lung cancer and cardiovascular disease.

- Smoking addiction is also a financial burden on the family - an average smoker spends about 5 million VND annually on cigarettes. Given this reality, quitting smoking is crucial to avoid negatively impacting your family's finances.

- Regularly study books and articles and stay updated on the latest addiction treatment methods, thereby finding an effective way to quit smoking for yourself.

- Remember that successfully quitting smoking has many benefits: improved health for yourself and those around you; better appearance (no more yellow teeth, fresher scent); more money to spend on other things…

In addition, to help your loved one successfully quit smoking, you should regularly monitor and support them by: preventing them from relapsing, advising and encouraging them to overcome cravings.
