Ownerless wood
(Baonghean) Recently, our province's forest protection forces often catch "ownerless wood". On July 5, 2012, in Nam Khien village (Nam Can, Ky Son), 7 cubic meters of wood, all of which are Doi de and Cho, were discovered... Before that, in Kim Hanh village (Thanh Son, Thanh Chuong), 25 pieces of De and Sen wood and 2 ownerless buffaloes were discovered! Before that, in Muong Tip, Muong Ai (Ky Son), Chau Khe (Con Cuong)... there were also many cases of confiscation of rare and ownerless forest products, although 1 cubic meter of Doi is worth 15-20 million VND. The way to handle ownerless wood is to hand it over to the District Forest Protection Department or the Confiscation Department for handling.
That is a half-hearted way of fighting a snake, because our goal is to catch the forest destroyer, to stop it before it is cut down, not just to take the wood. Catching the forest destroyer is not difficult if we are determined.
Experience in handling the case of ownerless wood in Son Hong commune (Ha Tinh) recently showed that when the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee declared: "It is impossible to say that the wood is ownerless". The authorities stepped in to set up a special project to find the owner of the wood. As a result, not only did they confiscate another 105m3 of wood, but they also arrested the subject and brought him to criminal prosecution.
The problem of “ownerless wood” is currently rampant in our province (and the whole country). If the managers do not take seriously the search for the owners of “ownerless wood”, we will continue to confiscate a lot of wood, illegal loggers will continue to be at large, and forests will continue to be hollowed out everywhere.
