Widow and young lover traffic ecstasy across countries

Huyen bought drugs from Cambodia and transported them to Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Hai Phong and then took buses to the main points in the provinces.

On June 19, Long Bien District Police, Hanoi announced that they had prosecuted and detained Nguyen Ngoc Huyen, Nguyen Kim Chien and Vu Manh Kien to investigate the illegal drug trafficking.

In the first months of 2017, Huyen and her lover Kien, who was 5 years younger, often went to several hotels in Long Bien district at midnight with suspicious behavior, so they were followed. Through that, the police discovered that Huyen was the leader of a drug trafficking ring from Cambodia through Ho Chi Minh City to Hai Phong and Hanoi.

On June 18, police caught Huyen, Kien and Chien carrying 1,500 ecstasy pills. In the hotel room Huyen rented, police seized another 5,500 ecstasy pills. The total weight of the drugs was about 3kg.

Huyền said she was a widow and had served a 16-year prison sentence for drug trafficking. Through relationships with many men, Huyền established a network to transport "goods" from Cambodia to Vietnam. Huyền assigned Kiên to pack and send drugs to the provinces by bus.
