Google recognizes Crimea as Russian
An official Google representative informed the State Duma that Crimea is shown on Google maps as a region of Russia.
Earlier, Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin instructed to invite Google representatives because of the incorrect designation of Crimea on Google maps.

"Today, at the parliamentary session, an MP stated that on Google maps, Crimea is not shown as Russian territory. The Committees on Information Policy, Security and Anti-Corruption have verified it. The results of our investigation show that this information is incorrect," said Leonid Levin, head of the Duma Committee on Information Policy.
Mr. Levin added that when accessing Russian territory, Crimea is displayed as Russian territory.
"In addition, the official representative of Google who contacted us... also officially confirmed that on the territory of the Russian Federation, Google maps show Crimea as Russian territory, and abroad, Crimea is shown on Google maps as a disputed territory" — said the head of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy.
