Google Maps stops navigation function in Vietnam
Google has yet to give a reason for the sudden discontinuation of this service.
As of May 13, all devices using Google Maps will no longer run the navigation feature in Vietnam. The search giant has yet to announce the reason for stopping providing this service.

Tested on computers or mobile devices such as phones, Android tablets, iPads, iPhones..., the direction function does not work. Google has blocked the navigation-related API in Vietnam.
On Google's forum, many Vietnamese topics asked why the company temporarily stopped providing directions, however, Google still has no official answer.
The navigation function on Google Maps officially became available in Vietnam in early January 2010. Direction allows users to determine the route for free. After the suspension of the service, Vietnam is one of 56 countries that the company does not provide direction to.
