Attending a Club meeting, feeling the joyful and excited atmosphere reflected on the faces of each member. Achieving excellent results at the Nghe An Vi and Dam Folk Song Festival, Cluster 2 and being one of the units participating in the Provincial Vi and Dam Folk Song Festival held from June 23 to 25, 2012 in Vinh City, the Tan Ky Town Folk Song Club is continuing to research, stage and practice enthusiastically.
Talking to us, Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung - Club Manager said: In order to have good performances to participate in the festival, the Club is exploiting and elaborately staging 3 ancient folk songs of Nghe An such as "Anh sang da gam a kieu ki", "Thu long chung thuy", "Ho boi thuyen". Besides, there are also new folk songs composed based on the inspiration and sympathy from Nghe An folk songs, creating the attraction of the Festival such as: "Mau Xanh Tan Ky".
In addition to selecting typical folk melodies, the club also focuses on selecting core members with voices imbued with folk music to successfully perform the show. Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Lien is one of the core members of the club. Inheriting musical talent from her beloved mother, she took the entrance exam to the Central College of Music Education. After graduating, she became a music teacher at Nguyen Trai Secondary School.
During her years in the profession, in addition to providing students with musical knowledge, with her passion and love for folk songs, she has actively participated in the district's mass cultural and artistic activities. She confided: "Joining the folk song club, I have the opportunity to express my love for folk songs. Especially when the province organizes the Vi and Dam folk song festival, the club members and I are all excited and are practicing hard to bring the most impressive performances to the festival, determined to achieve high results at the festival."
The Tan Ky Town Folk Song Club was formed on the basis of a mass art troupe. Currently, the club has 20 members, of which 15 members sing folk songs. From the performances and mass art competitions at the grassroots level, the unit has discovered and nurtured talented people with the voice of Vi-Dam folk songs. Thanks to that, at the Nghe An Vi-Dam Folk Song Festival, Cluster 2, held in Tan Ky District, the Club has created a special program with good works and good voices, which were highly appreciated by the Jury.
With the desire to contribute to preserving and promoting the artistic value of Vi and Dam folk songs and promoting the sustainable development of Nghe An folk song singing movement, bringing folk songs into life, at this first Vi and Dam folk song festival, the club uses ancient melodies, lyrics, performance forms, and correct singing techniques of folk song genres. With careful and elaborate preparation, hopefully Tan Ky Vi and Dam folk song club will bring the audience good and impressive performances.
