Contribute to making Dong Loc T-junction greener
(Baonghean.vn) - Towards the 68th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2015), within the framework of the 1 Million Trees for Vietnam Fund program organized by Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company (Vinamilk) in coordination with the General Department of Environment under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment on July 26, 2015 in Ha Tinh, the program's Organizing Committee coordinated with the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province to conduct a tree planting ceremony at the Dong Loc Crossroads Youth Volunteer Historical Site. This is a meaningful activity to pay tribute to the heroic martyrs who fought and sacrificed to protect the vital route connecting the North and South during the war to protect the fatherland and unify the country.
The program was attended by Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan - Member of the Politburo, Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly; Ms. Truong Thi Mai - Member of the Party Central Committee, Chairwoman of the National Assembly's Committee on Social Affairs; Mr. Nguyen Minh Quang - Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment; Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Hoa - Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment; Ms. Dao Hong Lan - Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs; Mr. Nguyen Van Tai - General Director of the General Department of Environment; Ms. Le Tuyet Mai - Director of the Vietnam Children's Fund; Mr. Vo Kim Cu - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province; Ms. Bui Thi Huong and Mr. Tran Minh Van - Executive Director of Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company - Vinamilk. The ceremony was also attended by comedian Xuan Bac and Miss Vietnam 2010 Ngoc Han, two goodwill ambassadors of the program.
Before participating in the tree planting activity with hundreds of Can Loc District Youth Union members, the delegates went to the Martyrs' Memorial and the graves of 10 female Youth Volunteers to pay their respects and offer flowers and incense.

After that, delegates, people and hundreds of youth union members participated in planting nearly 5,610 black star trees and acacia trees at the historical site of Dong Loc Intersection Youth Volunteers, Can Loc district, Ha Tinh province, with a value of more than 300 million VND, out of a total of more than 3 billion VND that Vinamilk has sponsored for the 1 million trees for Vietnam Fund in the past 3 years.

In 2015, following Quang Binh province, Ha Tinh was the second stop of the 1 Million Trees for Vietnam Fund. It is expected that in the coming time, the Fund will continue to plant trees in many other cities across the country, expanding to areas where trees bring practical benefits to the community.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Hoa - Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment shared: "The 1 Million Trees for Vietnam Fund Program is a cooperative activity to realize the policy of socializing environmental protection work, especially promoting the planting, management and protection of trees to improve air quality in urban areas, both implementing the major policy of the Party and the State and supporting localities to promote the socialization of tree planting. Our goal when organizing events like this tree planting ceremony is to inspire and encourage the community to come up with more initiatives and pay more practical attention to trees and tree planting in cities across the country".
