Contribute to building the grassroots political system

(Baonghean) - Promoting the qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" on all fronts, the war veterans' force at all levels always clearly demonstrates its important and core role in the political system, being a solid support for party committees at all levels, authorities and people to build a new life.

Identifying the top important task of the Veterans Association at all levels is to participate in building and protecting the Party, the State, the socialist regime, the people, contributing to maintaining political stability in the locality and the whole country. The Veterans Association at all levels always grasp the policies and resolutions of the Party, the laws of the State, and local regulations to propagate to all classes of people, resolutely fighting against wrong views. Notably, in the whole province, there are currently up to 9,000 Veterans Association members participating in leadership work in blocks, hamlets, wards, communes, and social organizations; many comrades have contributed to the comprehensive and strong development of the local movement.

Block 6, Thu Thuy Ward (Cua Lo Town), is a Catholic area, the Veterans Association has 18 members. Over the years, the block has always been a strong and comprehensive locality. Contributing to that achievement, there is a very important role of Block Leader Nguyen Dinh Nhung, a veteran and a member of the Pastoral Council of Cua Lo Parish. He is an exemplary cadre and a God-fearing and patriotic parishioner. In the process of carrying out his duties, he and the Party cell and the block executive committee promoted propaganda and explanation work, mobilizing the people, especially the War Veterans Association members, to take the lead in developing the economy, protecting the block, and contributing funds to build cultural houses and internal roads. When the veterans in the block are exemplary, they directly mobilize their children and neighbors to do the same. Therefore, the emulation movements of the block are always at the top of the town. The people of Block 6 have contributed hundreds of millions of VND and hundreds of working days to pour concrete on the internal roads of the block. Of which, 6 households of War Veterans Association members contributed 20 million VND, completing the main road 100m long, 3m wide with a signboard named "War Veterans Association Road". In addition, the War Veterans Association and the Executive Committee of the Propaganda and Mobilization Sector mobilized people to contribute 40 million VND to repair and upgrade the fence, and purchase furniture for the cultural house. "To achieve this initial result, I and the War Veterans Association mobilized people to firmly grasp the Party's policies and the State's laws and policies, to live a good life and follow the religion" - Mr. Nhung concluded.

Besides block 6, blocks 2, 3, 5 in Thu Thuy ward are all strong units in the movement, stabilizing social order. The common point is that the blocks have strong war veteran association branches. Mr. Trinh Xuan Tuong - Chairman of Thu Thuy ward war veteran association said: "As the first ward to do tourism, there are many families of war veteran association members who are business households. Thanks to exemplary war veteran leaders in this field as well as in implementing local regulations and conventions, it has created consensus among the people. Therefore, we always urge members to uphold the qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" on all fronts". Up to now, Thu Thuy ward is an area that has built many good models and creative ways of doing things such as the skillful mass mobilization model; the model of a block of hamlets without social evils; the model of ensuring hygiene and safety and doing good tourism...

In Hamlet 3, Quynh Luong Commune (Quynh Luu District), the Hamlet Chief is veteran Ho Lam Thong, who is always trusted by the Party Committee and the people. Whenever the neighbors have bad things in disputes or brothers have problems or quarrels, he is always there to successfully mediate. The reason he maintains that reputation is because he is always an exemplary leader in all local movements such as donating land to build roads, consolidating fields, exchanging plots, and uniting to build cultural life in residential areas. Secretary of the Quynh Luong Commune Party Committee, comrade Ho Chi Tung said: "In Quynh Luong, members of the Veterans Association are the first members to donate land to build rural roads, thereby encouraging people to voluntarily relocate their properties on the land to open roads in the village...".

Not only actively "mobilizing the people", war veterans are also active members in building and protecting the Party and the local government. Typically, the War Veterans Association of Hien Son commune, Do Luong district has helped the local Party Committee and government ensure security and order in the area. The war veterans of the commune always closely coordinate with the Party Committee and government to remove difficulties in implementing policies and guidelines at all levels, and resolve concerns and problems between households to focus on socio-economic development. In the communes of Boi Son, Thinh Son, Hong Son... the War Veterans Association is also always trusted, learned from and followed by the people. At 14 establishments with Catholic compatriots, the Do Luong District War Veterans Association has selected 23 war veterans who are Catholics to be the core in mobilizing people in religious areas to properly implement the religious policies of the Party and the State; 362 War Veterans Association members are self-management group leaders, participating in reconciling conflicts and disagreements among the people, contributing to maintaining security and order at the grassroots level.

The Association of War Veterans at all levels also actively helps each other to eliminate hunger, reduce poverty, and enrich themselves legitimately. In Cua Lo Town, the Association of War Veterans has 268 production and business models owned by war veterans, with an income of 100 million VND or more; creating jobs for hundreds of workers who are children of war veterans and local people; encouraging members to contribute more than 3 billion VND to the association fund for more than 450 members to borrow without interest to produce and solve difficulties in life. The Association of War Veterans in Do Luong District is also a positive factor promoting the movement of good production and business in the locality. Currently, the District Association has 980 good production and business members, and 342 wards help each other with interest-free capital with a monthly mobilization of more than 950 million VND.

With more than 60,000 members, organized from the provincial level down to the grassroots level, the War Veterans Association in the province has actively contributed to building the political system at the grassroots level. Evaluating the contributions of the War Veterans team, Major General Nguyen Phong Phu - Chairman of the Provincial War Veterans Association affirmed: "Promoting the qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers, all war veterans returning to the locality always uphold the revolutionary spirit, set an example on all fronts, creating prestige and spreading influence in the community. The Provincial Association regularly directs all levels of the association to strengthen solidarity within the Party and among the people, fight against wrong arguments, contribute to stabilizing the situation, focusing on socio-economic development from each village, residential area..."
